Joseph Bevington Memorial
Drumming Scholarship Fund
Established in January 2009, this scholarship assists the families of drummers below the age of 19 with tuition fees for attendance at the North American Academy of Piping and Drumming and other pipe band drumming schools. It is in the memory of the late Joseph Bevington, my grandfather for whom I owe all my efforts in drumming.
May our musical traditions continue for many generations.
The North American Academy of Piping and Drumming summer school has been in existence since 1971 and was established by PM Sandy Jones and the late John McFayden, of Glasgow, Scotland. The school's professional instructors conduct one-week classroom instruction. Room, board and tuition are included at a very reasonable price. Details of the school can be viewed at www.naapd.org.
